Kijlstra

Kijlstra is the market leader in the Netherlands in the field of complete drainage systems made from concrete. We are also the foremost producer of block paving, curb stones and flags in all shapes, sizes, finishes and colours. For professional applications as well as use in the private sector. At the same time Kijlstra is a large supplier of ready mixed concrete in North Holland.
Kijlstra started as a small contracting company around 1900. In the fifties we began to produce concrete products. In 1970 a new production facility was opened outside Drachten. Kijlstra now has 5 production facilities, 3 are in the Netherlands: Vianen, Drachten and Veendam and 2 in Germany: Sankt Augustin (near Bonn) and Uchte (near Minden).
Kijlstra has a turnover of about 65 million Euros per year and employs about 250 people.

Kijlstra is a division of the Vermeulen Drachten Holding. Other companies in this holding include Michel Oprey & Beisterveld, specialists in natural stone with branches in Echt and Utrecht, Intercodam, specialists in various sport, building and civil materials in Amsterdam and RBM & Grain Plastics, producers of PVC pipeline systems for sewers, rainwater drainage and water management with production facilities in Leeuwarden and Hoogeveen. These companies share the common feature of all being producers and/or suppliers of all the products under or on the streets in the civil sector.
From bulk goods….. to specialties.
In addition the group has ready mix concrete plants in Drachten, Vianen, Wildervank and Swifterbant. Altogether these companies realise a turnover of about 150 million Euros per year and employ about 500 people.
